We are thrilled to announce that Convexity has been awarded the Catalyst Grant by the The Roddenberry Foundation, California, for our innovative humanitarian solution, CHATS (Convexity Humanitarian Aid Transfer Solution), that supports agricultural development and food security in Nigeria and other countries like Nigeria.
The Catalyst Grant is a prestigious funding opportunity that supports ideas and projects that challenge conventional thinking and address pressing global challenges. We are honored to be among the recipients of this grant, which will enable us to scale up our impact and reach more beneficiaries.
CHATS (Convexity Humanitarian Aids Transfer Solution) is a digital voucher transfer solution that uses blockchain technology to provide conditional and unconditional voucher support to smallholder farmers and rural communities that are financially excluded or affected by conflicts or disasters. CHATS is designed to be transparent and affordable. It also allows NGOs to manage the full lifecycle of a particular programme, from evaluation to implementation to monitoring and evaluation.
With the support of the Roddenberry Foundation, we will be working closely with the donors and local NGOs to pilot CHATS in two challenging contexts in Nigeria:
- one that tackles the most difficult problems of monitoring and managing the agricultural input process in the NorthEastern region
- and another that improves the access of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to life-saving medication.
We believe that CHATS has the potential to transform the lives of millions of people who lack access to affordable and quality agricultural inputs and medicines and to contribute to the sustainable development goals of ending poverty and hunger, ensuring health and well-being, and promoting peace and justice.
